Jan. 3 Update for Dota 2 Addresses Bugs and Changes Mouse Click Priority on Wards

Dota 2 Receives Small Updates Before Upcoming Events

In the early months of 2020, Dota 2 has been receiving frequent small updates to address issues, improve user interface features, and make changes to Turbo mode. These updates serve to polish the game before the start of the new year’s events.

Fixes and Improvements

One notable change in the recent update ensures that all Festivus rewards function properly. Previously, there were issues with consumables and event chat wheels not activating correctly. These fixes were made in response to community feedback regarding problems encountered in the past few days.

One of the frustrating errors that occurred in certain matches was the failure of neutral creeps to de-aggro as intended. This caused camps to move farther than usual, leading to complications in engagements and encounters with enemies.

As suggested by the community, the update also adjusted the priority of mouse clicks on friendly wards compared to enemy wards. This quality of life improvement reduces the chances of accidentally attacking your own ward instead of an enemy ward when placing a sentry ward in an area where both are present.

Additionally, the client now displays the alias “Inai, the Void Spirit” for Void Spirit, following a request from the Dota 2 Reddit community.

Turbo games also received a minor update, with neutral item drops occurring at the beginning of the match rather than after seven minutes, as in standard games.

Upcoming Events and Patches

More small updates can be expected before the WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020 commences on January 9. Following the conclusion of the event on January 12, a major patch is expected to be released.
