Invoker’s Kid Persona Update Released as The International 9’s Prize Pool Nears Exciting Achievement

A new cosmetic update has been released for Invoker in Dota 2. It’s the first-ever Hero Persona for the popular character.

The Invoker’s Kid Persona was first showcased in a submission to Valve’s TI7 Short Film Contest by Maxime Lebled, also known as MaxOfS2D. MaxOfS2D won the top prize with their skit.

This new update features a new model, portrait, and voice lines for Invoker. It’s on par with Arcana quality items and has a more adorable yet annoying touch. You’ll now hear the overconfident voice of a 10-year-old Invoker taunting you with gleeful innocence every time he gets a kill.

With this release, it’s expected that the prize pool for TI9 will soon pass the $30 million mark. This means more levels for Battle Pass owners.

Although Valve promised bug fixes and quality of life changes with the Summer Scrub update, it didn’t ship with the Hero Persona release. Valve is likely prioritizing and resolving issues in the game’s code before Dota 2’s biggest event of the year.
