Invictus Gaming secures TI8 qualification with a shutout victory against LGD Forever Young

Invictus Gaming Qualifies for The International

The Chinese regional qualifier for this year’s International has concluded. Invictus Gaming is now the second team from China to secure a spot in the world championship, joining Team Serenity.

Dominant Performance by Invictus Gaming

Led by TI5 runner-up and veteran captain Fu “Q” Bin, Invictus Gaming put up a remarkable performance in the losers bracket grand finals. They defeated LGD Forever Young in a two-game series, sweeping them in just one hour and 25 minutes of in-game time.

Invictus Gaming’s strategy primarily revolved around their skilled cores, Sun “Agressif” Zheng and Lin “Xxs” Jing. Agressif showcased his prowess with the hero Mirana, securing an impressive score line of 22 kills, six deaths, and 36 assists. Xxs, on the other hand, took on the mid role and performed exceptionally well with Dragon Knight.

Disappointing Result for LGD Forever Young

Unfortunately, this loss means that LGD Forever Young, the third-place team from last year’s tournament, will not be able to participate in this year’s International. Despite having talented players like Du “Monet” Peng and Tue “Ahfu” Soon Chuan on their roster, they will now have to support their sister team PSG-LGD Gaming from the sidelines.
