India to Host Its First Dota 2 Mega Event: ESL One Mumbai 2019

ESL One Mumbai 2019: ESL’s First Dota 2 Mega Event in India

ESL has announced the exciting news of ESL One Mumbai 2019, which is set to be the first mega event for Dota 2 in India. To bring this event to life, ESL has partnered with NODWIN Gaming, an Indian esports organization with experience working with DreamHack and smaller event organizers.

Twelve teams will compete for a share of the $300,000 prize pool. Seven top tier organizations will receive direct invites, while four teams will fight their way through qualifying tournaments from the four regions. The final spot will go to the winner of a local qualifier in India.

Aside from the intense competition, ESL One Mumbai will also feature a cosplay contest and opportunities for fans to meet and take pictures with their favorite players.

There may be some conflict for teams invited to this event, as the Dota Pro Circuit’s fourth minor, the AMD SAPPHIRE Dota PIT Minor, is also taking place that week. It’s expected that the ESL event will attract the top teams that didn’t make the cut for the Dota PIT Minor.

The Schedule and How to Watch

The group stages for ESL One Mumbai will take place from April 16 to 18, where teams will battle for playoff positioning in two groups. The main event will be held from April 19 to 21 at the NSCI Dome. Fans can purchase their tickets on the ESL One Mumbai website to watch the playoffs live.
