Increasing number of bugs plague Dota 2 with the arrival of New Frontiers patch.

Dota 2’s 7.33 Patch Brings New Features and Bugs

The launch of Dota 2’s 7.33 patch on April 20 introduced a range of new features. However, as expected with such extensive changes, several bugs have emerged since the update’s release. Some of these bugs are minor, while others have a game-breaking impact.

Valve has promptly addressed some of the more concerning issues this week. However, the game’s outage on April 25 and server maintenance due to a surge in player activity have allowed a few pesky bugs to slip through the cracks.

One notable bug that significantly affects matches involves Glimmer Cape. While this item had lost popularity in recent patches, the 7.33 patch has revived it by adding a movement speed bonus and a 300 magic damage barrier in addition to its short duration of invisibility.

Regrettably, as discovered by a Dota 2 player, if the damage barrier is broken during Glimmer Cape’s active duration, invisibility is immediately ended. Although the magic damage barrier is beneficial, most supports purchase the Cape primarily for its invisibility, which grants greater mobility and survival during team fights.

Another bug that has garnered attention is related to Undying’s Aghanim’s Shard upgrade to Tombstone. This upgrade converts the Tombstone into a bunker that allows allied heroes to enter and avoid damage. Additionally, Undying can use Grab Ally to throw a teammate into the Tombstone.

However, if Undying uses Grab Ally on a tethered Io and throws the Wisp into the Tombstone, the game will crash for everyone immediately.

Undying’s Tombstone has also been involved in other peculiar interactions. Another Dota player discovered that units like Couriers, Venomancer’s Plague Wards, and Pugna’s Nether Ward can use the Warp Gates to teleport across the map.

According to a player’s findings, any non-rooted unit can use the Warp Gate. The interaction with abilities like Shadow Shaman or Witch Doctors ultimates could potentially have a significant impact on the game.

Valve has been prompt in responding to the most severe offenders. Riki, a hero who experienced a substantial win rate increase after changes in the 7.33 patch, had some assistance on launch day. It was discovered that Dust of Appearance did not break his invisibility, but Valve quickly addressed the issue and updated the hero accordingly.

The developers also fixed a visual glitch that obstructed players’ vision when the camera was moved towards the Radiant’s new Defender Gate region. Surprisingly, no such issue affected players on Dire. The problematic tree was promptly removed, resolving the problem.

Valve’s Bug Fixes Ahead of the Berlin Major

Valve’s priority is to address as many bugs as possible before the Berlin Major, a $500,000 USD tournament starting on Wednesday, April 26.
