Gambit Esports withdraws from the WePlay! Pushka League

FlyToMoon Replaces Gambit Esports at WePlay! Pushka League

FlyToMoon will be stepping in to replace Gambit Esports at the WePlay! Pushka League after fng and his team dropped out of the event.

Gambit’s Decision to Pull Out

Although the official statement from WePlay! only mentioned the team’s replacement, Gambit made it clear that they withdrew from the event because they wouldn’t have enough time for a proper boot camp before competing.

Challenges of Playing from Home

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has forced teams to limit travel and play from home. This makes it difficult for players who don’t live near the team’s training facility or within the same region to participate in high-level tournaments. Although all of Gambit’s players live within the CIS region, the organization wants the team to practice more before entering another event.

Favorable Results at Minor Events

Prior to the coronavirus outbreak, Gambit had been performing well at Minor events, finishing fourth at the WePlay! Bukovel Minor and third at StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season Three. This break from tournaments will likely be temporary as the players adjust to practicing from home.

The WePlay! Pushka League, featuring 12 teams competing for a $250,000 prize pool, begins on April 23.
