Gambit Esports secures ESL One Hamburg qualification with substitute players

Gambit Esports Secures Spot at ESL One Hamburg 2019

Gambit Esports is off to a strong start, winning the GG.Bet Hamburg Invitational with a team of mostly stand-in players. Despite not yet finalizing its roster, Gambit dominated the competition, including tough teams like Winstrike Team and Hippomaniacs from across Europe and CIS. This victory has earned them a spot at ESL One Hamburg 2019.

Impressive Performance by Stand-In Players

Gambit Esports faced the challenge of losing key players from their roster, but instead of rushing to find replacements, they utilized stand-ins. With only four players currently on the roster, including fng and gpk, two players sat out the last event. The team competed with stand-ins dream`, Shachlo, and XSvamp1Re, all of whom seamlessly meshed with fng’s style of draft and play. They dominated the group stage with a 3-0 victory, with none of their games lasting longer than 26 minutes.

Playoff Success and ESL One Hamburg

The playoffs were slightly tougher for Gambit Esports, but they managed to secure victories against Positive Guys, their former teammate, Immersion, and FlyToMoon. This win guarantees their spot at ESL One Hamburg, which will be the first non-Dota Pro Circuit Major of the year. The previous Gambit roster had success at ESL events, making this a great opportunity to test the mettle of the new team.

Looking Ahead to ESL One Hamburg

ESL One Hamburg is set to begin on October 25, and while there is no guarantee that this current Gambit roster will remain the same until then, the team is optimistic about their performance at the event.
