Former players from Cloud9 and OG.Seed come together to create a new Dota 2 team

New Scandinavian Stack “5men” Revealed for WePlay! Closed Qualifiers

The direct invites for the European closed qualifiers of WePlay! and Epic Esports’ Omega League have unveiled an exciting new Scandinavian stack in the Dota 2 scene. The team, aptly named 5men, consists of players from recently-disbanded teams OG.Seed and Cloud9.

The Players on 5men

5men brings together talented individuals including Marcus “Ace” Hoelgaard, Rasmus “Chessie” Blomdin, Andreas Per “Xibbe” Ragnemalm, Rasmus “MISERY” Filipsen, and Johan “pieliedie” Åström.

Ace, MISERY, and pieliedie were previously part of the short-lived C9 revival. Unfortunately, the North American organization decided to end the Dota 2 project after less than three months due to poor results, such as a winless Dota Summit 12.

On the other hand, OG.Seed started as a developmental squad but quickly impressed with victories over more established teams like Evil Geniuses. However, conflicts of interest with other teams and tournament organizers led parent organization OG to bid farewell to OG.Seed.

A Strong Combination

Swedish players Chessie and Xibbe have joined forces with fellow countryman pieliedie and MISERY, one of Dota‘s most experienced veterans.

Battling for a Spot in the Omega League

5men’s debut appearance will see them compete against established dark horses like HellRaisers and Vikin.gg for a chance to secure a spot in the highly anticipated $550,000 Omega League.
