Fnatic Dominates Group D at The Chongqing Major
In what was expected to be a highly competitive group, Fnatic showcased their readiness to compete at The Chongqing Major. They kicked off their tournament play with a commanding win against Alliance, setting the tone for the rest of the group stage.
Alliance fought back hard in game two, but one mistake allowed Fnatic to secure the win. Despite a close match in terms of kills and structures, the victory went to Fnatic.
In the winners match, Fnatic faced Evil Geniuses and emerged victorious after a thrilling comeback in game one. In game two, Fnatic dominated from the start and secured their spot in the upper bracket as the only team with a perfect 4-0 record in the group stage.
Evil Geniuses had the chance to redeem themselves in the decider match against Alliance. After losing game one, EG bounced back and secured a 2-1 victory over Alliance with an impressive kill advantage.
With the group stage concluded, the playoffs will begin on Jan. 20 at 8pm CT, with Team Liquid facing off against Team Secret in the upper bracket.
