The Dota 2 competitive scene experienced a major upset at Epicenter XL, as the hometown crowd cheered on local team FlyToMoon. Despite being considered underdogs, FlyToMoon secured a third-place finish by defeating their heavily favored opponents in the lower bracket.

FlyToMoon’s impressive performance on the second day of playoff action surprised everyone. Instead of succumbing to their superior opponents, FlyToMoon made a perfect run through the lower bracket, proving their skills in the game.
Victory Against European Team OG
The day started with FlyToMoon facing European team OG, who had been sent to the losers side by Team Liquid. It was a thrilling match that lasted over an hour, with FlyToMoon’s late game-focused draft helping them secure the win.
Bogdan “Iceberg” Vasylenko showcased his immense skill and composure under pressure, ending the match with 18 kills and seven deaths. Veteran carry player Airat “Silent” Gaziev also contributed significantly, with a 17-3 record and top damage.

FlyToMoon waited in the next round as fellow CIS squad Virtus Pro faced off against DAC 2018 winners, Mineski. Despite Mineski holding a significant gold lead, VP managed to even things out in the late game.
Toward the end of the game, Mineski secured Roshan, gaining the Refresher Shard alongside the Aegis of the Immortal and Cheese. However, VP’s captain Alexei “Solo” Berezin displayed incredible reflexes and saved his teammate Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev using False Promise. This turned the tide of the battle in VP’s favor.
FlyToMoon’s Victory Over Virtus Pro
In the highly anticipated match between FlyToMoon and Virtus Pro, FlyToMoon proved that they were the stronger team, defeating VP in just two games.
In the first game, FlyToMoon’s tempo-setting support duo, Alexey “nongrata” Vasilev and Aleksander “Nofear” Churochkin, controlled the entire map, preventing VP from making any significant moves.
The second game saw FlyToMoon’s Silent and Iceberg taking charge. Iceberg’s Leshrac dealt a massive amount of damage, securing 26 kills and proving his talent in the game.
Upcoming Challenge Against Team Liquid
Despite their impressive win against Virtus Pro, FlyToMoon faces another tough challenge in the form of defending International champions, Team Liquid. FlyToMoon aims to take the series to three games and potentially secure a spot in the grand finals.
