Flying Headset Causes Controversial Pause during Royal Never Give Up’s Game at TI11

Dota 2 Fans Witness Unexpected Pause in TI22

In today’s endurance match at The International 2022, Dota 2 fans were surprised by a pause that occurred right at the end. The match, which lasted over 100 minutes, saw Entity go up against Royal Never Give Up (RNG), with the pause grabbing the attention of viewers.

In the Dota 2 community, pausing a match after securing a kill or at the end is considered rude. This made the pause initiated by Dzmitry “Fishman” Palishchuk sound distasteful, especially since RNG players have been dealing with health issues throughout TI11.

Shortly after the match, Entity clarified the situation on Twitter, claiming that the pause was accidental and that Fishman had no intention of disrespecting RNG. While some fans were initially skeptical, video clips emerged that supported the support player’s explanation.

Upon closer examination, it can be seen that Fishman stood up from his chair and accidentally triggered the pause by throwing his headset towards the table. His headset somehow landed on the player’s pause hotkey, catching Entity players off-guard.

As RNG’s Ancient was about to fall, the game paused, leaving both teams and the crowd confused. After the match resumed and Entity’s victory was confirmed, the European squad approached xNova, the only RNG member who wasn’t in isolation, to shake hands.
