Evil Geniuses Welcomes JerAx and Nightfall to Their Dota 2 Roster

Evil Geniuses Completes Dota 2 Roster Shuffle with Nightfall and JerAx

The rumors have finally been confirmed, and Evil Geniuses completed its Dota 2 roster shuffle by adding Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko and Jesse “JerAx” Vainikka to its lineup today.

JerAx: A Two-Time Champion Joins EG

JerAx, who previously played for OG and won back-to-back championships at The International in 2018 and 2019, brings his experience and unique approach to North America to help EG improve upon their last season.

“I wouldn’t be competing in Dota if I wouldn’t set the expectation for the team to be one of the best,” said JerAx. “For myself, I don’t see any other reason for me to approach playing this game.”

Nightfall: Adapting to a New Role

Nightfall, who recently competed in his first TI as part of Virtus.pro, will now take on the off-lane role for EG, showcasing his adaptable playstyle and mechanical skill.

A New Approach for EG

Both signings are surprising as Nightfall traditionally played carry and JerAx was known as a top-level support player. However, EG believes they can utilize their skills in new ways to enhance the team’s performance.

“It was pretty much a no-brainer for all of us, he is an idol for pretty much any Dota player, even if you don’t play position four,” said Crit-, referring to JerAx. “For me, he is one of the only players I would consider my superior. It’s nice to be able to learn from him side-by-side.”

EG looks to build a more structured and adaptable approach compared to their previous roster, aiming to break through and claim the Aegis at upcoming events.

Debuting the New Roster

This new-look EG roster will make its debut in the upper division of the North American regional league when the 2022 DPC kicks off its Winter Tour on Nov. 29.
