Evil Geniuses Strategically Triumphs Over Vici Gaming at DreamLeague Leipzig Major

Evil Geniuses Get Revenge on Vici Gaming in Dota 2 DreamLeague Leipzig Major

Evil Geniuses (EG) emerged victorious against Vici Gaming at the Dota 2 DreamLeague Leipzig Major lower bracket finals. This win comes as a much-needed revenge for EG, who had previously lost six consecutive games to the Chinese giants.

This was the fifth series between the two teams this season, with VG winning three out of the four previous matchups. However, EG managed to defeat them in an unimportant series during the group stage of the ONE Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational. VG dominated EG in the World Pro Invitational finals and also swept them in the group stage of the Leipzig Major.

EG will now face Team Secret, one of the strongest teams in the world, in the next round. Despite a slow start at the Dota Pro Circuit, Team Secret has regained their form at the Leipzig Major.

EG has performed exceptionally well throughout the tournament. Their new recruits, “Abed” Yusop and Roman “RAMZES66” Kushnarev, have seamlessly integrated into the team. Their individual skills and ability to dominate games on their signature heroes have been instrumental in EG’s success.

VG, on the other hand, finishes the tournament in third place. Their previous second-place finish at the MDL Chengdu Major has secured their place in The International.

Although VG has top-tier execution and versatility, their gameplay is often limited by the meta-game. They tend to struggle against teams that employ unconventional heroes and strategies, such as Team Secret. However, VG can use this experience to improve themselves as they leave the tournament with $110,000 and 2,100 DPC points.

In the first game of the series, VG had a slight lead in the mid-game but EG turned the game around with a dominant teamfight that led to the downfall of VG’s Ember Spirit.

In game two, VG selected the Gyro-Io combo while EG went for a last-minute Broodmother pick to counter VG’s lack of AOE. Although EG had a glimmer of hope after a huge play from Artour “Arteezy” Babaev, VG showcased their teamwork and ultimately secured the win.

The final game saw EG’s “Abed” Yusop shine on Storm Spirit, a hero he has excelled with throughout the tournament. VG attempted a faster-paced game with Puck, Magnus, and Doom cores, but EG’s teamfight ultimates, Chronosphere and Ice Blast, turned the tide in their favor.

Overall, EG’s dominance and strategic gameplay led to their well-deserved victory over VG in the Dota 2 DreamLeague Leipzig Major.
