Evil Geniuses Secure Spot at The International 2019 after Defeating Ninjas in Pyjamas

Evil Geniuses Secures Spot in Dota 2 Tournament

Evil Geniuses has become the third team to secure a place in Dota 2’s biggest tournament, joining Team Secret and Virtus Pro. In the previous two Majors, Evil Geniuses placed third, but this time they were determined to come out on top.

In the tournament, all three of the top teams in the Dota Pro Circuit were knocked into the lower bracket. However, Evil Geniuses didn’t let that slow them down. They focused on key players from Ninjas in Pyjamas and shut down their opponents. By denying their opponents any ground, Evil Geniuses secured victory and moved forward in the tournament.

Evil Geniuses picked off key kills early on, specifically targeting Adrian “Fata” Trinks from NiP. These kills started to add up and became insurmountable for the opposing team.

With a one-game advantage, Evil Geniuses swiftly won the second game, securing their entry into The International 2019 with a top-eight finish.

On the other side of the tournament, Virtus Pro struggled in game one against Chaos Esports Club. Facing elimination, Virtus Pro relied on Vladimir “No[o]ne” Minenko’s Morphling pick to turn the tables and even the series.

In the deciding game, Virtus Pro made a comeback to completely shut out Chaos, securing the win.

Now, Evil Geniuses and Virtus Pro are set to clash, guaranteeing that at least one of the top three teams will be eliminated before the bronze match. Before that, J Storm will face Team Secret in an upcoming match.
