ESL One Hamburg 2019: The Inaugural Offseason Major

ESL One Hamburg 2019: Top-Level Dota 2 Competition

The offseason for the Dota Pro Circuit will begin after The International 2019, but ESL is keeping the competition alive with the announcement of ESL One Hamburg 2019. The tournament will be held at the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany for the third consecutive year. The first rounds will take place from October 22 to 24, and the main event will run from October 25 to 27.

Fans can already purchase tickets for the main event on ESL’s website.

Bigger and Better than Ever

ESL One Hamburg is Europe’s largest Dota 2 festival. This year’s event promises to be even bigger and better than before. It’s a must-attend for Dota 2 enthusiasts.

12 Top Teams Battle for Glory

Twelve of the world’s top teams will come together to battle it out at ESL One Hamburg. This tournament is especially interesting considering the recent roster changes that have taken place after last season’s TI8. These changes have left many teams in a state of flux as they prepare for the upcoming DPC season. ESL One Hamburg will be a true test for them to see if their new lineups and player additions will pay off.

Post-TI9 Major Tournament

ESL One Hamburg is currently the only Major tournament scheduled after TI9. Over the past two years, the winners of this tournament have gone on to perform well during the following DPC season. In 2017, Virtus Pro won ESL One Hamburg and became the top-ranked team in the DPC. This season, Team Secret claimed victory at the tournament and currently holds the number one ranking. So, winning this tournament is a good indicator of future success.

Eight teams will receive direct invitations to the tournament, while the remaining four spots will be earned through regional qualifiers in Europe, including CIS, North America, China, and Southeast Asia. A total prize pool of $300,000 will be up for grabs.
