Entity’s Dota 2 team likely to remain united following unexpected success at TI11

Entity’s Unexpected Rise to Prominence in Dota 2’s European Scene

In early 2022, if you had been asked to name the top teams in Europe’s Dota 2 scene, the Entity squad probably wouldn’t have come to mind. At that time, they were working their way up from the second division.

But within a year, Entity not only earned their place in the first division, but they also participated in two Majors and eventually made it to The International 2022. Despite being seen as underdogs, their impressive performance and results set new expectations for the rookie roster heading into TI11. Recently, Entity’s captain Fishman shared their journey and future plans in an interview with CyberSports.ru.

Typically, teams that unexpectedly qualify for TI tend to struggle under pressure and often get eliminated early. However, Entity was determined to perform at the highest level.

Fishman stated, “We’ve raised our expectations. Our goal at The International was to win and secure a top placement. Losing is more challenging, but a team without expectations cannot be strong.”

Their high expectations fueled Entity’s performance at TI11. Their fate in the tournament came down to a tiebreaker, which they managed to navigate successfully. Despite a grueling 107-minute series in the main event, Entity was ultimately eliminated by Liquid in the next round, securing them a ninth-place finish at TI11.

While Fishman considered Entity’s year to be successful, he acknowledged that the team still wanted more: “Even if we had finished second in the tournament, we would still strive to achieve more.”

Although Entity hasn’t held their post-TI discussion yet, Fishman indicated that the squad is likely to stick together. They recently renewed their contract with Entity, including significant buyout clauses.
