EHOME Secures Spot in the ESL One Los Angeles Major as the Last Qualified Team

Chinese Dota 2 teams finalize their spots for the Major

All three Chinese teams for the upcoming Dota 2 Major have been determined. EHOME joins Invictus Gaming and Royal Never Give Up in qualifying for the tournament.

This will be EHOME’s second Major of the season, after previously participating in the MDL Chengdu Major and finishing in the bottom half of the field.

Since adding new recruits to their roster, EHOME has shown improvement. Liu “Sylar” Jiajun, a well-known carry in the Chinese scene, has played for prestigious organizations in China. Cheng “NothingToSay” Jin Xiang, a Malaysian player, follows in the footsteps of Wong “ChuaN” Hock Chuan by joining a Chinese team. Malaysians like Yap “xNova” Jian Wei and Thiay “JT-” Jun Wen have also made a name for themselves in the Chinese professional scene.

EHOME only lost to the top two teams in the qualifiers, Invictus Gaming and Royal Never Give Up. They prevailed over Team Aster, securing the final slot in the qualifier.

Coronavirus outbreak may impact the LA Major

The Chinese qualifiers were delayed due to the coronavirus outbreak, which could continue to cause issues in the coming weeks. Valve and ESL have yet to address the potential ramifications of the US travel ban on Chinese citizens and how it could affect the LA Major. In the worst-case scenario, Chinese teams may not be able to enter the country, leading to the need for replacement teams and impacting the DPC rankings.

Minor qualifiers still to come

The Chinese qualifiers for the Minor are still ongoing, with one team set to qualify for the tournament in Ukraine.
