EG emerges victorious at Dota Pit after grueling final

OG defeated by Evil Geniuses in DotaPit Season 5 Grand Finals

The grand finals of the fifth season of DotaPit faced multiple delays before finally concluding. The match featured OG and Evil Geniuses, with the North American team emerging as the victors in the fifth game of the series. The final game remained evenly matched until around the 25-minute mark when OG lost four players in a teamfight.

In an earlier game, OG’s off laner Gustav “s4” Magnusson had applied significant pressure on Evil Geniuses’ mid laner Syed “SumaiL” Sumail Hassan with his Batrider. However, after the teamfight, SumaiL managed to obtain a full BKB and Linken’s Sphere, making him a formidable target. His increased damage output turned him into a formidable opponent in teamfights.

In the final game, OG’s performance declined. Despite eliminating four Evil Geniuses players around the 40-minute mark, the European team suffered just as many deaths in the confrontation. Roughly 10 minutes later, Evil Geniuses ambushed OG and secured the tournament victory.

The grand finals were plagued by internet issues, resulting in a conclusion at 4 AM local time. The players experienced severe packet loss and had to endure multiple extended pauses during the series due to internet problems in the player booths.

The final day of the tournament, originally scheduled to start at 12:00 CET on Sunday, lasted approximately 16 hours. Despite the challenges, Evil Geniuses proved themselves as fierce competitors in the world of Dota 2.
