Dota 2 professionals caution Valve developers about unfortunate timing of next patch

Dota 2 Pros Concerned About Timing of Upcoming Patch

As the Berlin Major approaches, Dota 2 professionals are facing more than just visa issues. It seems that the next patch release right before the event is causing some serious concerns. Players have been eagerly waiting for the patch, but its timing is being criticized as “poor management” given the impact it will have on the major.

“Every pro team will tell you the timing is not the greatest. It will bring a lot of randomness to the major,” said Skiter, a TI winner from Tundra Esports. While he hopes his team will understand the patch better than others, he acknowledges that the timing will be chaotic and challenging for players with so much at stake.

Skiter’s teammate, 33, also expressed his dislike for drastic changes like new mechanics or additions to the map, especially right before an important event. He would have preferred if Valve focused on balancing heroes instead of introducing major changes.

Gaimin Gladiators mid laner Quinn agreed that the patch should have been released earlier. He finds it questionable to drop the patch right before the major when points matter so much.

At this point, the release of the patch hasn’t been confirmed by Valve. Although they initially mentioned the end of April, leaks suggest that it might happen on April 20, just six days before the Berlin Major.
