Dota 2 Update 7.36b: Summary of Changes

Valve Hits Hard with Dota 2 Patch 7.36b.

Valve Sweeps Hero Facets with Massive Adjustments

As the big updates keep rolling in for Dota 2, Valve has once again made significant changes with Patch 7.36b. This time around, the focus is on adjusting Hero Facets, bringing a mix of nerfs and buffs to both items and heroes. With the meta constantly evolving, these adjustments are crucial to maintaining balance in the game.

Following the extensive Patch 7.36, Valve took a closer look at the overall strength and weaknesses of each hero’s Facets. This led to a total of 71 Facets undergoing tweaks, some even receiving complete overhauls. The goal is to ensure that every hero has a fair chance in the game, with no one facet overpowering the rest.

Axe Chopped Down After Absurd Win Rate Spikes

One hero that stood out in the previous patch was Axe, whose win rate saw a significant spike. Despite other heroes being brought back in line, Axe remained a dominant force on the battlefield. His “One Man Army” facet, which provided a substantial Strength boost when alone on the map, proved to be too powerful.

To address this issue, Valve has implemented several nerfs to Axe in Patch 7.36b. The Strength bonus now diminishes when allies are nearby, making it more strategic to utilize this facet. Additionally, the bonus armor and other effects have been recalibrated to ensure a more balanced gameplay experience.

Forced Movement, Knockback Now Clearly Defined

Another significant change in Patch 7.36b is the distinction between “Forced Movement” and “Knockback” effects in the game. While Forced Movement covers abilities that alter a target’s position, Knockback specifically refers to push or pull effects with a fixed distance. Valve has provided a comprehensive list of abilities classified as Knockback effects in the full patch notes.
