PGL Dota 2 Major Arlington 2022 Confirmed
The final Major of Dota Pro Circuit 2021-2022 will be held in Arlington, Texas from August 4 to 14. PLG, the tournament organizer, recently announced the news.
The Esports Stadium Arlington will serve as the host venue for the event. Eighteen teams will compete for a prize pool of $500,000. Additionally, the tournament offers Dota Pro Circuit points, which are crucial for teams aspiring to qualify for The International. More information on the dates and specifics of this much-anticipated Dota 2 event will be revealed soon.
Excitingly, spectators will be allowed to attend the tournament in Arlington, marking the return of on-site Dota 2 events for fans. In a press release, PGL stated, “We are delighted to announce that the spectators will be allowed to the arena, so every Dota 2 fan will have the chance to witness another Major in North America after over five years.”
The forthcoming Major in Arlington will be the first to take place on American soil since The Boston Major 2016, held in June of that year in the capital of Massachusetts.
Considering the return to North America, PGL CEO Silviu Stroie expressed excitement, saying, “We are fortunate to be back in North America with another Major after Boston. We love to run events in the USA, and we have wonderful memories from 2016: it was a great tournament, and the fans were fantastic. Having a tremendous tournament with Dota 2 enthusiasts in the stands after a long time will be great.”
