Dota 2 Expert Garter Aims to Switch to League of Legends, Highlights Competitive Weaknesses of Dota

Garter, Former Dota 2 Pro, Transitions to Compete in League of Legends

Ylli “garter” Ramadani, a well-known Albanian player in the Dota 2 scene, has decided to switch gears and pursue a career as a professional League of Legends player. After a lackluster 2019 season with a smaller team, garter made the announcement of his retirement from Dota 2, stating “out with the old, in with the new.”

Garter, who has been playing Dota since the original game’s release and turned pro in 2007, has decided to try his hand at a new game. With hopes of achieving success in the competitive League of Legends scene, garter looks to leave his mark in a different esports arena.

In a tweet, garter expressed his decision to retire from Dota 2 and start a new chapter in his esports career. He acknowledged the game’s greatness and the positive experiences he had, but felt it was time to move on and embrace the new year and decade with a fresh start.

During his time in Dota 2, garter played alongside talented players such as Sébastien “Ceb” Debs, Michael “miCKe” Vu, Neta “33” Shapira, and Aydin “iNSaNiA” Sarkohi. Despite putting together strong rosters, their teams struggled to compete in the European region.

Garter also criticized the flaws within the competitive scene, particularly the poaching of players by larger organizations from smaller teams. He pointed out that this destabilizes teams and prevents their potential from being realized. Additionally, he voiced his concerns about the MMR system and its lack of effectiveness in matchmaking players who complement each other.

While garter is not the first Dota 2 player to venture into the world of League of Legends, he aims to make a successful transition between the two esports scenes. With his experience and determination, he hopes to achieve great things in his new endeavor.
