The finals of The International 2019 Cosplay Contest featured amazing artists displaying their months of hard work in front of an awe-struck audience. The Chinese cosplay community made a strong presence, showcasing outfits ranging from simple and detailed to ones with unique props like a drone.

Not only did the crowd in attendance love the costumes, but fans watching the event at home were also amazed by the ingenuity and accuracy of the cosplayers. One standout costume was Naiyu’s incredible Naga Siren, which fans quickly compared to the in-game model.

The contest had a total prize pool of $15,000, which was divided among different awards and categories. The Best In Show Award received one-fifth of the earnings, while $1,500 was awarded for the Best Technique, Biggest Transformation, and Most Innovative awards.

Each of the 15 finalists also received $500 before the judges made their final votes for the awards. Redemption Props’ Treant Protector took home the grand prize as the Best In Show Award winner.

Mustard’s Tinker won for Biggest Transformation, Medha’s Legion Commander won Best Technique, and Nienteen’s Terrorblade received the Most Innovative award.

The costumes showcased in the contest were at least 80 percent handcrafted by the cosplayers, highlighting their creative craftsmanship. This contest set a new standard for future editions of The International and left fans excited for TI10.
