Fnatic, BOOM Esports, and B8 Relegated After Disastrous Performances in First DPC Tour
The first tour of the 2023 Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) season has concluded, with a reality check for Fnatic, BOOM Esports, and Dendi’s B8.
Despite starting the season with strong rosters, all three teams were relegated due to their poor performances.

BOOM and Fnatic both participated in The International 2022 and made significant transfers for the 2023 season. However, they struggled to win matches throughout the first tour, placing themselves in a difficult position that greatly reduced their chances of receiving an invitation to TI12.
Unless Fnatic and BOOM can reclaim their positions in the first division and win the Major, they will have to go through regional qualifiers for a chance to compete in TI.
Dendi’s B8 also faced a similar fate. The team relocated its Dota 2 operations to North America for the 2023 DPC, hoping for a Major slot but ended up in division two instead.
B8 brought in some Eastern European talent to the NA region and recruited experienced players from within the league, creating a promising roster on paper. However, their performance fell apart as soon as the season began, failing to secure a single series win.
Alongside Fnatic, BOOM, and B8, Team Secret also suffered relegation at the end of the first DPC tour. This is a striking turn of events considering Team Secret’s impressive performance as the runner-ups at TI11 just a few months ago, highlighting the fast-paced nature of the Dota 2 world.
