Midas Mode 2.0 Playoff Stage: Heroes’ Costs and Bounties
Midas Mode 2.0 has entered hard mode as the Dota 2 competition moves into the playoff stage. Heroes’ costs have skyrocketed, with a hero like Tiny now costing over 2000 Moonbucks, far more than the 1000 Moonbucks received for victory.
In an interesting move, Natus Vincere has recruited Jake “SirActionSlacks” Kanner as a stand-in, who will be limited to playing Techies. SirActionSlacks, previously a bench player on the TI6 runners-up, Digital Chaos, brings a unique skill set to the team.
Bounties have become crucial in this phase of the tournament.
Bounty Challenges
- Sick’em: 900 Moonbucks. Your VIP melee creep must attack an enemy hero and retreat to Roshan, where Roshan will finish them off. If the creep dies from anything other than Roshan, the bounty is failed.
- ABC…: 600 Moonbucks. Draft a lineup while selecting the heroes in proper or reverse alphabetical order.
- Raid Area 51: 600 Moonbucks. All team members must run into the enemy base through one lane, touch the throne, and then teleport away. This must happen before any T3 towers fall.
- I’m a fish: 600 Moonbucks. A player on your team must declare “I am a fish” and only move their hero through the river for 5 minutes. If they survive for the entire duration, they complete the bounty.
- Read a book you dumbass: 550 Moonbucks. Gift one of your 10-minute tomes to the enemy team for their use.
- Brown boots, Dagon: 500 Moonbucks. Complete this challenge by killing an enemy hero while only owning brown boots and a Dagon.
- All in: 500 Moonbucks. Purchase a Divine Rapier before the 30-minute mark to complete this challenge.
- No filter: 500 Moonbucks. Your team must type “WE’RE SMOKING” in all chat every time you use a smoke. You must do this within 10 seconds of using a smoke.
- Twitch plays Dota 2: 400 Moonbucks. Let Twitch draft your first hero for free.
- Happy Murder Trees: 400 Moonbucks. Plant three trees on the body of an enemy before it fades into the ground.
With the playoffs and hard mode in effect, the list of bounties has expanded to 10. As top-tier heroes’ costs continue to rise, teams will face challenges completing the bounties to secure a strong draft.
