Dates for The International 2022 announced, upcoming Dota 2 update set for June 8

The International 2022: Dota 2’s Longest Event Yet

The International 2022, the biggest Dota 2 tournament, has just been confirmed to be the longest event in the game’s history. Valve announced that the tournament will take place throughout the month of October in Singapore.

Extended Duration and New Schedule

Taking place from October 8 to 30, TI11 will be divided into four main sections with multi-day breaks in between. This new schedule allows for experimentation and ensures a more immersive experience for both players and viewers.

More Teams and Last Chance Qualifiers

The extended length of the event is due to the addition of more teams to the TI11 roster. From October 8 to 12, there will be a last chance qualifier where second and third place teams from regional qualifiers can compete for a spot in the main stage. This increases the total number of teams from 18 to 20.

Tournament Structure

The group stage of TI11 will take place from October 15 to 18, where all 20 teams will battle for 16 spots in the playoffs. The playoffs will run from October 20 to 23 at the SunTec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre, and the final rounds will be held on October 29 and 30 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Both the playoffs and finals will be ticketed events, with more information provided later.

Dota Plus June Release

In addition to the new schedule for TI11, Valve has confirmed that the Dota Plus June update for Dota 2 will be released on June 8. This update will include the 7.31d Gameplay Update, seasonal refresh, and various exciting new features.
