Controversial Rulings Spark Roasting of Dota 2 Legends at PGL

PGL Faces Back-to-Back Dramas: Criticism from Pro Players

PGL, a prominent tournament organizer in the esports industry, has recently found itself at the center of controversies. In a recent episode of the Monkey Business Show, pro players N0tail and Ceb openly criticized PGL for their questionable actions that caused a stir in the Dota 2 community.

PGL Accused of Unfairness: The Old G Incident

Just a month ago, Ceb publicly criticized PGL administrators after Old G’s forced elimination from the Dota Pro Circuit. The veteran player was not hesitant to express his dissatisfaction with PGL’s actions, indicating a pattern of unfair treatment.

In a video interview, Ceb referred to his interactions with PGL as the worst he has experienced in his esports career since 2009. This series of negative experiences has led Ceb to believe that PGL has been making a series of unfavorable decisions, potentially damaging its own reputation.

N0tail and Ceb also discussed PGL’s recent scandal involving the unjust disqualification of a young Dota 2 squad over match-fixing allegations that turned out to be false. After receiving significant backlash from the community, PGL reversed their decision and allowed the NA Dota 2 team to compete in the second division.

Highlighting a crucial point, Ceb emphasized that while PGL and Valve events are technically separate, PGL-organized leagues serve as a pathway for players to reach Valve events. Therefore, when PGL bans players, it effectively prevents them from participating in Valve events, turning PGL’s decisions into de facto Valve rulings.

In an attempt to lighten the mood, n0tail jokingly imitated PGL’s damage-control statements and questioned if more questionable decisions by PGL were going unnoticed. He suggested that while the Dota 2 community often learns about PGL’s worst actions through social media, there could be more happening in lower leagues and qualifiers.
