Confirmation of rumors: Dota 2 team, Team Spirit, unveils new signing

The International 10 Champions, Team Spirit, Make Roster Change

Team Spirit, the champions of The International 10, have made a roster change after TORONTOTOKYO decided to pursue a different path for the 2023 DPC season. Today, the Dota 2 team announced that they will be filling the gap in their roster with Denis “Larl” Sigitov.

This move was leaked via an Instagram story from Spirit’s boot camp in November, where Larl was seen with the other Spirit members while TORONTOTOKYO was absent. This hinted at a potential roster change.

Spirit announced the addition of Larl in a fun video featuring the team’s manager, Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov. The video shows Korb3n contemplating who should replace TORONTOTOKYO, and ultimately deciding to invite Larl to join the squad.

Larl joins Spirit after an impressive stint with BetBoom Team (BB). BB secured a direct spot in the Eastern European TI qualifiers, surpassing favorites like Virtus Pro and NAVI.

BB’s run through the qualifiers was a display of strength, as they initially fell to the lower bracket after losing to NAVI. However, they fought back and defeated NAVI and VP in consecutive series, securing their spot in the event.

Larl played a significant role in BB’s success and has been playing at the highest level since the beginning of 2021. He has been recognized as one of the most promising talents in the EEU region, having been scouted by VP’s Prodigy roster. Now, he has the opportunity to prove himself on a TI-winning squad as he takes on the mid-lane role.
