Complexity parts ways with entire Dota 2 roster

Complexity Gaming Releases Dota 2 Roster After Disappointing Season

Complexity Gaming’s hopes of becoming a top competitor in North American Dota 2 quickly faded as they struggled to settle on a consistent roster. Just a day after watching The International 2019 from the sidelines, Complexity made the decision to release their entire Dota 2 roster in search of new talent.

Rotating players throughout the season can be a useful way to test different roster combinations, but it also prevents teammates from building chemistry. This was a major challenge for Complexity, as they lacked the synergy necessary for success.

Things took a turn for the worse when one of their players, Andrei “Skem” Ong, made a racist comment during DreamLeague Season 10. Complexity reacted by placing him on the inactive roster. Shortly after, the team parted ways with their captain, Jacky “EternaLEnVy” Mao, and Jingjun “Sneyking” Wu.

Complexity has struggled to maintain a stable roster in recent years, often relying on stand-ins and trial contracts. This unpredictability has hindered their performance and prevented them from establishing a cohesive team dynamic.

This year, Complexity had Zakari “Zfreek” Freedman and Linus “Limmp” Blomdin from their 2018 roster. They also added Adam “343” Hussein and Galvin “Meracle” Jian Wen. Despite their efforts, the team was unable to secure a spot at The International 2019 qualifiers and finished fourth at Dota Summit 10.

Looking ahead, Complexity will have the opportunity to pick up talented players during the post-International roster shuffle. With a fresh start, they have the potential to make a strong comeback in the 2019-2020 season.
