CompLexity and LFY escape elimination at Perfect World Masters

Perfect World Masters Nears Its Conclusion

The Perfect World Masters is almost over, with only four teams remaining in the competition. Three of these teams are Chinese squads, enjoying the advantage of playing on their home turf.

Local favorites LGD.Forever Young had an impressive showing in yesterday’s action, surviving two elimination series by knocking out Vega Squadron and Team Secret.

One game against Vega was a complete annihilation, lasting only 21 and a half minutes. LFY’s Leong “ddc” Fat-meng led the team in kills with a 10-0 record as Witch Doctor. For a support hero, that KD ratio is quite impressive.

This match also featured a classic meme, with the final score reading 3-22 in favor of LFY—a reference to the infamous matchfixing scandal that happened in the CIS region.

The series against Team Secret was a bit closer, but LFY still came out on top, winning both games without dropping a map.

LFY utilized Tiny effectively in the series, with Du “Monet” Peng racking up 33 kills and no deaths. This could be attributed to recent changes in Patch 7.06c or Monet’s exceptional skills.

In the other bracket, North America-based team CompLexity Gaming started their day by winning a close game against Mineski. They secured victory by trading one of their heroes for four of Mineski’s heroes in a decisive teamfight.

In the best-of-three series against Team Kinguin, CompLexity won the first game thanks to a remarkable performance by Zakari “ZFreek” Freedman on Enchantress. Limmp also played a crucial role on Phantom Lancer, dealing the most damage to Kinguin’s heroes.

A determined Kinguin fought back in game two, shutting down Limmp’s Gyrocopter and securing a victory. However, coL bounced back in game three with a convincing 33-9 win, with Limmp going 7-0 on Gyrocopter.

Both LFY and coL have shown great form in the elimination matches, setting the stage for an intense matchup. LFY will have the advantage of the local crowd, which coL will have to overcome.

Before the LFY and coL showdown, Vici Gaming and Newbee will battle it out for the first slot in the grand finals. Expect a fierce matchup between these two strong teams.
