Chinese Dota 2 Professional Association: PSG.LGD and Vici Gaming Take the Spotlight

Chinese Dota 2 Professional Association Formed by Top Chinese Teams

Amid concerns over COVID-19, eight of the top Chinese teams have come together to form the Chinese Dota 2 Professional Association. The purpose of this alliance is to organize online league tournaments to keep both players and fans engaged during the pandemic. However, the association plans to continue as a regulatory body even after the crisis, with the aim of further improving the Chinese Dota 2 scene.

Eight Teams Join the Association

The Chinese Dota 2 Professional Association consists of eight teams: Vici Gaming, PSG.LGD, Invictus Gaming, Team Aster, Royal Never Give Up, EHOME, Newbee, and Keen Gaming.

All members of the association made the announcement on their official Weibo pages, citing the postponement or cancellation of major tournaments due to the coronavirus pandemic. The purpose of the association is to fill the gap left by these cancellations and provide players with a chance to practice.

Focus on Online League Tournaments

For the time being, the association will focus on organizing online league tournaments to minimize contact between players and staff. All eight clubs will be responsible for organizing and participating in these tournaments. The decision to adopt a league system is to prepare for the next Dota Pro Circuit season’s Regional Leagues.

Restoring the Glory of the Chinese Dota 2 Scene

The association aims to restore the Chinese Dota 2 scene to its former glory by setting common goals and standards. It also aims to protect players’ rights by ensuring fair competition and practice schedules. The association will remain in constant communication with Valve, the developers of Dota 2, and welcomes other like-minded organizations to join and participate.

China, known as one of the major regions in Dota 2, has seen a decline in its competitive circuit compared to teams in Europe. The association hopes to address this issue and regain the country’s prominence in the professional Dota 2 scene.

More information about the online league tournaments, including streaming details, will be announced in the future.
