Ceb’s Dominance on an OG Hero is Revolutionizing the Dota 2 Ranked Meta

OG Legends Topson and Ceb Shine in Dota 2 Pubs

The players of Old G, OG legends Topson and Ceb, may have stumbled before their season began, but that hasn’t stopped them from delivering standout performances.

Gaimin Gladiators mid laner Quinn, who is also an established Dota 2 player, has named Topson as the best player in the scene not once, but three times. On the other hand, Ceb has been wreaking havoc in ranked matches, particularly with Io, one of the signature heroes from their time on the OG roster.

Ceb has played 16 matches with Io over the past eight days and has emerged victorious in every single one of them, making Io his most successful hero currently. Surprisingly, even Windranger, another hero he plays, doesn’t come close to his success with Io. Ceb plays Io as a support and buys items like Magic Wand, Bracker, Holy Locket, Mekansm, Medallion of Courage, Solar Crest, Drum of Endurance, and occasionally, Guardian Greaves and Glimmer Cape.

There was one particular Dota 2 battle where Ceb played Io more like a core, taking inspiration from Ana, another legendary Dota 2 player. He incorporated Heart of Tarrasque and Desolator into his build, transforming Io into a tank that hits like a freight train.

Ceb hasn’t played professionally since Old G failed to qualify for the 2023 Dota Pro Circuit in December. It remains to be seen whether they will make another attempt in the Spring Tour or step back for now.

The Dota legend’s spark is still alive and well, evident by his dominance in pubs. It seems like the veteran isn’t done yet, despite announcing his retirement multiple times.
