Malthe “Biver” Winther Announces Retirement from Competitive Dota 2

Professional Dota 2 player, Malthe “Biver” Winther, has made the difficult decision to retire from competitive gaming and step away from Tundra Esports to focus on his studies. Biver’s retirement comes just before the start of the second season of the Dota Pro Circuit in April.

After careful consideration, Biver expressed his thoughts on the matter, stating, “Over the last few weeks, I have been putting a lot of thought into my future as a Dota 2 player. It was an extremely hard decision but, in the end, I feel like this is the correct decision for me and my team. As of today, I have decided to retire from professional Dota 2 to focus on my studies.”

A Prominent Figure in the Dota 2 Scene

Biver, a Danish player, has been a prominent figure in the European and CIS Dota 2 scene since 2015. Throughout his six-year career, he has played for renowned organizations such as Natus Vincere, Team Spirit, Infamous, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Chaos Esports Club, and more.

Tundra Seeks Replacement Player

With Biver’s departure, Tundra Esports will now have to search for a replacement player to join their roster for the upcoming Dota Pro Circuit season. The team aims to improve upon their sixth-place finish in the DPC EU regional league upper division from the previous season.

Focusing on Studies with Potential for Dota’s Return

Biver has left the door open for a potential return to the Dota scene in the future, but for now, he will prioritize his studies.
