BetBoom triumphs over ‘fragile’ Dota 2 storyline in thrilling TI 2023 spectacle

BetBoom Team’s Domination at The International 2023 Lower Bracket

BetBoom Team continues to impress at Dota 2’s The International 2023, with a recent victory over rival team Virtus Pro. This intense series even featured the longest game of the tournament.

Although BetBoom narrowly missed out on starting in the upper bracket, they have shown their resilience in the lower bracket. Both BetBoom and Virtus Pro were evenly matched, with VP entering the lower bracket one round later than BetBoom.

Leading up to this match, BetBoom faced the pressure of their reputation for being “fragile” and choking in major events. However, they quickly dispelled any doubts in the first match, with core players Nightfall and Gpk delivering flawless performances.

In the first match, BetBoom’s carry and mid-lane duo dominated the game, with only a single death between them. The team showcased excellent coordination and control after a tower defense fight in the mid-lane, ultimately closing out the match in over 40 minutes.

The second game saw Virtus Pro masterfully drafting against BetBoom’s lineup, countering their threats effectively. VP held a slight lead until the 40-minute mark, but BetBoom turned the tide with surprise initiations and catching VP’s key heroes off guard.

Despite their comeback, BetBoom still struggled in team fights against VP’s Muerta. However, Muerta’s attempt to backdoor BetBoom’s top lane barracks proved fatal, as she was caught and BetBoom secured two Divine Rapiers.

With this advantage, BetBoom confidently marched down the mid-lane and landed the finishing blows to VP’s ancient, securing them a top-six finish in the tournament.

In a post-match interview, TORONTOTOKYO jokingly stated that BetBoom might consider playing even longer matches “for content” in the future. BetBoom’s next opponent will be determined later today as they await the loser of the LGD versus Azure Ray series.
