Beastcoast advances alongside Thunder Predator in thrilling tiebreaker at ESL One Los Angeles Major

Beastcoast and Thunder Predator Dominate South American Dota 2 Qualifiers

The South American Dota 2 scene has been dominated by Beastcoast for the past nine months. However, the recent ESL One Los Angeles Major qualifier playoffs shook up the entire region. Thunder Predator emerged as a strong contender, securing the first spot in the playoffs after going 3-1-0 in Group B.

TP, although a relatively new roster, has performed exceptionally well in tier two tournaments. They have proven themselves as a force to be reckoned with, making their mark in the DPC qualifiers. On the other hand, Beastcoast started strong but faced a setback when they lost to FURIA Esports and tied with Infamous in the group stage. The top three teams in Group A had to compete in a tiebreaker to determine the two teams moving forward.

In an unusual turn of events, the tiebreaker saw FURIA beating Beastcoast, Beastcoast beating Infamous, and Infamous beating FURIA twice in a row. Infamous eventually lost to FURIA in the deciding game after Beastcoast managed to defeat the newer roster. However, Beastcoast’s performance in the playoffs was lackluster, as they lost game one to paiN Gaming. But due to technical issues faced by paiN, Beastcoast won game two by default, leading to a tied series and a chance for Beastcoast to secure the victory in the final game.

Thunder Predator continued to showcase their strength by sweeping FURIA and Beastcoast in the playoffs and earning the top seed from the South American region for the Major. Their dominant performance throughout the qualifiers hints at a promising future for the region.

Meanwhile, Beastcoast bounced back from their earlier loss and secured their spot in the Major by defeating FURIA in back-to-back matches, eliminating their opponent.

As the ESL One Los Angeles Major approaches, Beastcoast needs to address the issues they have been facing. The tournament begins on March 15, and it is crucial for the team to regain their form in order to succeed.
