Arteezy criticizes former Dota 2 pro for abysmal performance, suspecting account sale

KheZu Accused of Selling Account in Dota 2 Ranked Match

Did you ever have a ranked match in Dota 2 go so badly that you were accused of selling your account? Well, that’s exactly what happened to Maurice “KheZu” Gutmann during a game he played with Artour “Arteezy” Babaev on Sept. 15.

In this specific match, KheZu played as Legion Commander in the offlane, while Arteezy took on the mid lane as Necrophos. Unfortunately, the game quickly turned into a one-sided defeat, and Arteezy didn’t hold back in expressing his frustration with his teammates. KheZu brought this up in a DreamLeague Season 21 interview yesterday.

“Remember the pub game we played about a week ago?” KheZu asked Arteezy, who instantly recalled the encounter. Despite receiving criticism during the match, KheZu admitted that Arteezy was right to call out everyone’s poor performance and even apologized for his own lackluster showing, which resulted in a zero-to-eight score.

As everyone burst into laughter, Arteezy mentioned that he had considered the possibility that KheZu had sold his account, as he couldn’t understand his terrible plays.

At the time of the match, KheZu had just returned from a three-month break from Dota 2, so he was a bit rusty to be back at the top skill bracket in the game. To make matters worse, KheZu wasn’t the only underperformer in the game. Both of the supports, Dark Willow and Treant Protector, were also having a difficult time.

Even though DreamLeague Season 21 is an online tournament, it attracted the best Dota 2 teams from around the world to Europe before The International 2023. With the most competitive players in the region, even the ranked games became more intense as professional players regularly played with and against each other between scrimmages.
