Arteezy believes Dota 2’s latest patch is reminiscent of the game’s early days

Dota 2 Patch 7.33: Arteezy Shares Thoughts on the New Update

Dota 2’s recent Patch 7.33 brought significant changes to the game’s map and mechanics. These updates have caused many players to feel like they are learning the game all over again. In a recent interview during DreamLeague Season 19, Artour “Arteezy” Babaev from Shopify Rebellion shared his thoughts on the new patch.

In general, Arteezy seems to be quite fond of the new patch. It reminds him of the earlier days in the Dota world, where custom games would present alternative spins on the regular map.

“The new map feels like a Warcraft 3 custom game,” Arteezy stated. “Like Hell versus Heaven, or Angel Arena.”

Before Dota 2 became its own standalone game, it originated as a mod for Warcraft 3. This mod gave birth to numerous custom games, similar to those Arteezy mentioned. Aside from the nostalgia factor, Arteezy also pointed out that most players are still trying to figure out the new patch.

According to Arteezy, the new patch has caused the middle portion of the map to become more focused on intense battles due to the presence of new jungle camps. While Arteezy overall enjoys the patch, he does have one complaint: the Twin Gates.

Arteezy isn’t a fan of enemy supports suddenly teleporting to his lane and taking him down for free. He suggests that the Twin Gates should remain locked until the 10-minute mark, giving carry heroes more room to breathe in the early game.

Shopify Rebellion exceeded expectations in the last tournament leading up to the Berlin Major, even without their star player Abed. After finishing the previous patch with a strong performance, the team is determined to maintain their dominance at the Berlin Major, where many teams will showcase their understanding of Dota 2 Patch 7.33.
