Alliance Completes Dota 2 Lineup with w33, symetricaL, and CTOMAHEH1

Alliance Completes Its Dota Pro Circuit Roster with New Additions

With only a few hours left until the roster lock for the Dota Pro Circuit, Alliance has finalized its team by adding w33, symetricaL, and CTOMAHEH1 to the lineup.

The addition of CTOMAHEH1 and symetricaL was expected as they were among the last free agents available for their respective positions. However, the inclusion of w33 came as a surprise. Earlier, Alliance’s chief strategy officer, Kelly Ong, had mentioned that w33 was not considering joining a team with a betting sponsor.

According to Ong, w33 was firm in his decision and turned down offers from teams with betting sponsors. W33 had previously been a member of Nigma Galaxy, an organization without a betting sponsor, but was moved to inactive status in April 2021.

W33 has been teamless for a while, potentially due to his conditions and principles. Betting sponsors have been a controversial topic within the Dota 2 community, with some sponsors promoting bad behavior in non-tournament, ranked games. Despite the criticism, betting sponsors continue to be a part of the Dota 2 scene.

Alliance’s statement did not provide details on how the team will handle VBET, one of the main sponsors of the organization. It is possible that w33’s in-game tag and jersey will not feature the sponsor.

Before joining Alliance, w33 will make one final appearance for Nigma Galaxy, standing in for the team’s SEA division in the GAMERS GALAXY: Invitational Series Dubai 2022. Following the event, he will join his new teammates in Alliance.

The complete roster for Alliance in the upcoming DPC Season includes:

  • Nikolay “Nikobaby” Nikolov
  • Aliwi “w33” Omar
  • Moiez “symetricaL” Mahmood
  • Adam “Aramis” Moroz
  • Nikolay “CTOMAHEH1” Kalchev
