Zeus named team captain for Gambit CS:GO

Daniil “Zeus” Teslenko becomes Gambit Esports’ new team captain

Gambit Esports has announced that Daniil “Zeus” Teslenko will be joining their Counter-Strike: Global Offensive squad as the new team captain and in-game leader.

Zeus, who has been with Natus Vincere since 2009, made the move to Gambit Esports after being replaced as the in-game leader by Denis “seized” Kostin and then being pushed off the starting lineup by Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev earlier this year. During his time with Na’Vi, Zeus led the team to multiple top finishes, including first place at DreamHack Leipzig in January and second place at DreamHack Masters Malmo in April.

“We simply couldn’t ignore Daniil’s leadership qualities and his years-long history of success,” said Gambit in their announcement. Gambit CEO Konstantin “groove” Pikiner also expressed his excitement, stating, “He loves competing and commits himself to it completely, does his best to achieve results. I am glad to welcome a player of his calibre to Gambit.”

The current Gambit CS:GO roster includes Zeus, Abay “HObbit” Khassenov, Mikhail “Dosia” Stolyarov, Dauren “AdreN” Kystaubayev, and Rustem “mou” Telepov. The organization is still in search of a manager and coach.

Zeus has signed a contract with Gambit Esports until the end of the 2017 season. He will be representing Gambit at ESWC in Paris later this month, where they will face off against FaZe Clan in the quarterfinals.
