What to Expect at DreamHack Masters Marseille

DreamHack Masters Marseille: The Ultimate CS:GO Tournament

The much-anticipated DreamHack Masters Marseille is set to kick off in a few days. This thrilling event will bring together the top CS:GO teams from around the world for an adrenaline-fueled weekend of intense competition in France.

Boasting a massive $250,000 prize pool, Marseille will host a five-day, 16-team tournament to determine the absolute best in the Counter-Strike scene. From April 18 to 22, teams will battle it out in the renowned GSL format group stage, followed by an eight-team single elimination bracket.

The tournament features four fiercely competitive groups, each consisting of four teams. Let’s take a look at the groups, along with the match-ups and timings for each game:

Group A

  • FaZe Clan vs. Team Envy (5am CT)
  • Cloud9 vs. G2 Esports (6:30am CT)

Group B

  • Mousesports vs. Valiance (5am CT)
  • SK Gaming vs. Ninjas in Pyjamas (6:30am CT)

Group C

  • Fnatic vs. TyLoo (8am CT)
  • Natus Vincere vs. Renegades (9:30am CT)

Group D

  • Team Liquid vs. Gambit Esports (8am CT)
  • Astralis vs. Space Soldiers (9:30am CT)

Among these groups, Group A stands out as the most stacked, with FaZe, C9, G2, and Envy battling it out for the top two playoff spots. Other teams expected to make it through the initial stage include FaZe, Cloud9, Mouz, SK, Fnatic, and Liquid. Group D, however, is wide open, as all four teams have a good chance of qualifying for the playoffs.

This tournament holds incredible significance for many teams, as they have made roster changes following the last major international tournament at IEM Katowice in February. The lineups of FaZe, C9, G2, SK, and Liquid have seen significant alterations, and their performances might be affected by the individual role transitions within their respective team compositions. The ultimate victor of Marseille will undoubtedly be crowned the best team in Counter-Strike, as each team has had ample time to refine their roster cohesion and tactics.

All matches at DreamHack Masters Marseille will be streamed live on Twitch starting on April 18.
