Virtus Pro to Replace TaZ with Record Buyout Price

Virtus Pro Reportedly Seeking Replacement for TaZ after Disappointing Exit at ELEAGUE Major: Boston

Virtus Pro, the Polish esports team, is reportedly in talks to replace Wiktor “TaZ” Wojitas following their surprising elimination from the ELEAGUE Major: Boston. According to a report by DBLTAP, Virtus Pro is looking to bring in Michal “MICHU” Müller from Team Kinguin. The two organizations are expected to negotiate the transfer fee in the coming days.

€250,000 Buyout Price for MICHU

If Virtus Pro decides to proceed with the replacement, the buyout price for MICHU is estimated to be around €250,000 (approximately $310,000). MICHU has shown promise in the Polish Counter-Strike scene and has previously acted as a substitute for Virtus Pro. However, if an agreement cannot be reached between Virtus Pro and Kinguin, Virtus Pro may consider players from other rising Polish teams, such as AGO Gaming.

This potential buyout price would be approaching the highest-ever buyout fee for a CS:GO professional. The current record is held by Nikola “NiKo” Kovac, who was bought out by FaZe Clan for $500,000 from Mousesports in February 2017. If the transfer of MICHU to Virtus Pro goes through, it would surpass the second highest buyout price in history, which was Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom’s $160,000 transfer from G2 Esports to Titan in 2015.

Uncertain Future for NEO and the Virtus Pro Lineup

In addition to TaZ, Filip “NEO” Kubski has also reportedly been given an ultimatum by Virtus Pro regarding their team performance. If there are no improvements, NEO may also face being replaced. If this happens, only Jaroslaw “pashaBiceps” Jarzabkowski, Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski, and Pawel “byali” Bielinski would remain from the longest-standing lineup in CS:GO history.

“It is hard to comment on something we know from ‘internet rumors,’” said Giovanni Varriale from Team Kinguin in response to the speculation surrounding MICHU’s potential transfer. “All we can say right now is that we are happy with the current team setup and we have no intention to sell any of our players.”
