Virtus.Pro eliminates SK’s Major Run, set to face Astralis in Grand Finals

SK Gaming vs. Virtus.Pro: ELEAGUE Major Semifinal Recap

In the semifinals of the ELEAGUE Major, SK Gaming and Virtus.Pro faced each other once again. SK Gaming, two-time major champions, took on the legendary roster of Virtus.Pro in a thrilling matchup.

Map Veto

The map veto between the two teams played out as follows:

1. SK removed Nuke

2. Virtus.pro removed Dust2

3. SK picked Train

4. Virtus.pro picked Cobblestone

5. SK removed Cache

6. Virtus.pro removed Mirage

7. Overpass was left over

Map 1: Train

In the first map, Train, SK Gaming showed patience in the pistol round and successfully took control of the A site. They gained an early 3-0 lead, but Virtus.Pro fought back and dominated the next seven rounds. SK Gaming managed to break Virtus.Pro’s streak and win a few rounds, ending the first half in their favor. The second half saw both teams exchanging blows and intense rounds, ultimately resulting in overtime. Virtus.Pro pulled through and closed out the map with a score of 19-17.

Map 2: Cobblestone

In the second map, Cobblestone, SK Gaming won the pistol round once again, giving them an economical advantage. They secured a 5-0 lead before Virtus.Pro responded with three rounds of their own. SK Gaming managed to finish the first half strong with three-kill rounds from fox, TACO, and coldzera. However, Virtus.Pro fought back in the second half and secured a win with a score of 16-14.

Virtus.Pro will now face Astralis in the finals on Sunday at 10 EST.
