Cloud9 made a wise decision to ban VP’s strongest maps, Nuke and Cobblestone. However, they overlooked another one of VP’s formidable maps, Train. This turned out to be a disastrous mistake for the North American team during their time in Krakow, Poland.

The Battle on Train

Throughout the first half of Train, both Counter-Terrorist Cloud9 and Terrorist Virtus Pro fought for economic stability, trading rounds. VP managed to recover from a 4-7 deficit and took the lead with a score of 8-7 at the half.

In the second half, VP dominated with a series of consecutive round wins, using double-AWP setups to dismantle C9’s executes and successfully retaking sites as a cohesive unit. C9 struggled on the Terrorist side, only managing to secure three rounds. The match concluded with a strong 16-10 victory for Virtus Pro.

C9’s journey in the Krakow Major comes to an end with a 2-3 record. VP, on the other hand, will continue their pursuit in the playoffs, enjoying the advantage of playing on their home turf at the Tauron Arena in Poland. The quarterfinals will begin on July 21, where teams will face a new level of intensity in best-of-three matches.
