Unpredictable FNATIC: ELEAGUE Major Preview

FNATIC’s Journey in Counter-Strike

The reputation of FNATIC as the “villains” of Counter-Strike changed after ESL One Cologne 2016. They were determined to repeat their championship win from 2015 but fell short in the playoffs against Team Liquid. Despite their defeat, FNATIC’s performance earned them a top-four finish and Legend status for the next major. Fans were left wanting to see a matchup between FNATIC and SK Gaming. SK Gaming went on to win the major.

Rebuilding the Roster

After their defeat, FNATIC faced chemistry issues within the team. In a controversial move, three players decided to leave FNATIC and join the newly formed organization, GODSENT. This left FNATIC with only two players from their original roster. FNATIC’s status as conquerors had shifted, and SK Gaming took their place as the dominant team.

Struggling to Recover

FNATIC participated in several events with mixed results. They struggled to find their footing and had to experiment with in-game roles. Eventually, KRiMZ returned to the roster, bringing some stability. However, their performance towards the end of 2016 ranged from average to poor in various tournaments.

The ELEAGUE Major

FNATIC’s upcoming challenge is the ELEAGUE Major. They have the potential to upset their opponents and regain their status as Legends. The Swiss format of the major gives them an opportunity. FNATIC’s roster for the major consists of Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer, Dennis “dennis” Edman, Freddy “KRiMZ” Johansson, Simon “twist” Eliasson, and Joakim “disco doplan” Gidetun.
