Thorin’s Top 10 CS:GO World Rankings – 13th June 2015

CS:GO World Rankings: June 2015 Update

In the world of CS:GO, it’s always been a challenge to create a set of World Rankings that are consistently updated and make sense. There are so many teams attending different events, and it’s difficult to determine which results should count for more than others. Instead of using a complex point system, I’ve decided to analyze the recent performance of each team and determine my own global top 10 based on my own expertise.

I only consider offline results when creating these rankings. I look at a team’s performance over the span of three months, with more weight given to recent tournament results. Factors such as finishes, consistency, current form, and opponents faced are all taken into consideration.

Since the last rankings update, we’ve seen the conclusion of Dreamhack Tours, Gfinity Spring Masters II, and Fragbite Masters Season 4. Every team in the top 10 has participated in these events, so let’s take a look at how the results have affected the rankings.

Here are my CS:GO Top 10 World Rankings as of June 13, 2015:

1. FNATIC

Recent form:

  • ESL One Katowice (1st)
  • ESEA S18 LAN Finals (2nd)
  • PGL CCS (2nd)
  • FACEIT Stage 1 (3rd-4th)
  • Dreamhack Tours (1st)
  • Gfinity Spring Masters II (1st)
  • Fragbite Masters Season 4 (2nd)

FNATIC continues to dominate the CS:GO scene, winning two out of the last three offline events they attended and reaching the final in all three. They have an impressive track record, having made the final of six out of the seven offline tournaments they’ve played in the last three months. While TSM poses a threat to FNATIC’s reign, they still lack the consistent record of excellence to topple the reigning champions. FNATIC’s LAN titles, high placings, and overall consistency solidify their spot at the top for now.

2. Team SoloMid

Recent form:

  • ESL One Katowice (5th-8th)
  • StarSeries XII (3rd)
  • Copenhagen Games (2nd)
  • EPL Winter (3rd-4th)
  • PGL CCS (1st)
  • FACEIT Stage 1 (1st)
  • Fragbite Masters Season 4 (1st)

Team SoloMid is a formidable team with the potential to challenge FNATIC. They have won three offline tournaments, but their lack of consistency prior to those victories puts them in second place. TSM needs to continue their winning streak and improve their consistency to dethrone FNATIC.

3. EnVyUs

Recent form:

  • ESL One Katowice (3rd-4th)
  • Gfinity Spring Masters 1 (1st)
  • StarSeries XII (1st)
  • EPL Winter (3rd-4th)
  • PGL CCS (4th)
  • Dreamhack Tours (2nd)
  • Gfinity Spring Masters II (5th-10th)

EnVyUs has been consistent in the last three months, with two titles, three finals, and six top four finishes. Despite a recent slip-up at Gfinity, they still hold onto a top three spot. EnVyUs needs to work on breaking into the top two, which is currently dominated by FNATIC and TSM.

4. Ninjas in Pyjamas

Recent form:

  • ESL One Katowice (2nd)
  • Gfinity Spring Masters 1 (2nd)
  • StarSeries XII (2nd)
  • PGL CCS (3rd)
  • FACEIT Stage 1 (2nd)
  • Gfinity Spring Masters II (5th-10th)

NiP holds onto the fourth spot, thanks to their consistent performance and history of defeating top teams in best-of-three series. They may not have as many titles as VP, but their finals runs and victories over top teams secure their place in the top four. NiP still has some work to do if they want to challenge the top two teams.

5. Virtus.pro

Recent form:

  • ESL One Katowice (3rd-4th)
  • Gfinity Spring Masters 1 (3rd)
  • StarSeries XII (5th-6th)
  • Copenhagen Games (1st)
  • EPL Winter (5th-8th)
  • ESEA S18 LAN Finals (1st)
  • FACEIT Stage 1 (3rd-4th)
  • Gfinity Spring Masters II (2nd)

Virtus.pro’s performance has been inconsistent, with moments of brilliance and disappointment. While they have secured wins against top teams, they struggle to maintain the same level of performance consistently. VP needs to work on their consistency and polish if they want to challenge the top teams.

6. Na`Vi

Recent form:

  • ESL One Katowice (5th-8th)
  • StarSeries XII (5th-6th)
  • EPL Winter (1st)
  • FACEIT Stage 1 (5th-6th)
  • Fragbite Masters Season 4 (3rd)
  • Gfinity Spring Masters II (3rd-4th)

Na`Vi remains the most dangerous underdog team, capable of competing closely with the top teams but struggling to secure series wins consistently. They have only defeated a top four ranked team in a best-of-three series twice in 2015. Na`Vi needs to work on their consistency and solidify their performances to move up the rankings.

7. Titan

Recent form:

  • ESL One Katowice (9th-16th)
  • StarSeries XII (4th)
  • EPL Winter (2nd)
  • ESEA S18 LAN Finals (3rd)
  • Dreamhack Tours (5th-8th)
  • Gfinity Spring Masters II (3rd-4th)

Titan is known for being a world famous underdog team, but they struggle to deliver consistent results in maps, series, and tournaments. Despite strong starts and semifinal or final runs, they fail to secure titles. Titan still holds a solid record with top four finishes and one final, putting them ahead of teams ranked below them.

8. Team Dignitas

Recent form:

  • Copenhagen Games (3rd)
  • EPL Winter (5th-8th)
  • Dreamhack Tours (3rd-4th)

Team Dignitas has yet to secure major wins in best-of-three series, but their recent top four finish at Dreamhack Tours adds to their resume. They are considered a team with potential to improve and are currently the best team outside of the top seven.

9. HellRaisers

Recent form:

  • ESL One Katowice (9th-16th)
  • CIS Championship Voronezh (2nd)
  • Dreamhack Tours (3rd-4th)
  • Fragbite Masters Season 4 (4th)

HellRaisers reclaims a spot in the top 10 after strong performances at Dreamhack Tours and Fragbite Masters Season 4. They have played top teams closely and defeated FNATIC, which sets them apart from other teams in the bottom rankings. While they still have a long way to go, HellRaisers is back on the radar.

10. Vox Eminor

Recent form:

  • ESL One Katowice (9th-16th)
  • Gfinity Spring Masters II (5th-10th)

Vox Eminor secures the final spot in the top 10, thanks to their performance at Gfinity Spring Masters II. They managed to secure wins against top four ranked teams, FNATIC and NiP, and convincingly beat Liquid. In the bottom rankings, all teams lack consistent wins and top placings, making Vox Eminor’s strong showing enough to secure the 10th spot.

The rankings will be updated after the conclusion of Dreamhack Summer or the next major tournament.
