Thorin’s Esports Journey: Ranking the Most Dominant CS:GO Maps (Part 2 of 2)

SK Gaming’s dominance on train has been recognized as one of the greatest in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive history. However, it’s important to understand where their train performance ranks among other great maps in the game. In this article, we examine the 20th to 11th most dominant maps in CS:GO history.

**10. Early to nest – Na`Vi’s overpass**

Back in 2015, overpass was an ignored map in the pool. Na`Vi was the team to first master the rework of the map and they proved to be a capable CT side, winning about 65% of CT rounds during their best stretch of form. On the T side, they won more than 53% of rounds, ensuring they had the tactical style to get them enough rounds.

**9. A hidden home keeps Denmark relevant – TSM/Astralis’ overpass**

TSM’s overpass remained an insurance policy for them and one they could count on to gain wins. From Dreamhack Summer 2015 through to ELEAGUE S1, TSM went a very strong 24:7 on overpass. They had the consistent ability to perform well and get wins.

**8. Plowing the land – Virtus.pro’s mirage**

Virtus.pro showed themselves to be a capable CT side, winning about 72% of CT rounds during their best stretch of form. They had a notorious plow tactic that allowed them to execute onto whichever site they pleased. Their success on mirage laid the foundation for their rise and eventual victories in tournaments.

**7. Killer from the depths – FNATIC’s cbblestone**

Fnatic’s dominance on cbblestone contributed to their best period of titles won. They managed to win 14 games (87.50% win-rate) on cbblestone from IEM X Gamescom to IEM X Katowice. Their ability to adapt to opponents and their deep map pool made them a formidable team.

**6. Scared right out of the map pool – NiP’s train_se/train**

NiP’s train became their stronghold and laid the foundation for their success as a team. They had an incredible streak of consecutive wins and terrorized the opponent. Their dominance on train was due to their ability to set up the defense strategically and carry out successful executes.

**5. Making T side great – LDLC/nV’s cache**

LDLC/nV showed their strength on cache and were able to win consistently on their T side. They had a strong T side with good executes and the ability to outplay opponents on the map.

**4. Drowning opponents once the water level rose – Na`Vi’s train**

Na`Vi’s train remained a strong map for them and they were able to win consistently. They had a great T side and utilized their individual talent to outgun opponents.

**3. Stronghold of king KRiMZ – FNATIC’s inferno**

Fnatic’s dominance on inferno laid the foundation for their success. They were dominant on the map due to their strong CT side and ability to adapt to opponents’ playstyles.

**2. Imperious from the other side – Luminosity/SK Gaming’s train**

Luminosity/SK Gaming dominated on train and showcased their strategic brilliance on the map. Their strong T side and innovative executes made them nearly unstoppable.
