Thorin’s CS:GO End of Year Awards 2014 – Part 1: Players and Teams (Rewritten Title)

In this article, Thorin presents his CS:GO End of Year Awards for 2014. In Part One, he focuses on categories such as Player of the Year, Most Improved/Break-out Player of the Year, Rifler of the Year, AWPer of the Year, Pistol Player of the Year, Clutch Round Player of the Year, In-Game Leader of the Year, Team of the Year, and Rivalry of the Year.

Player of the Year:
The winner of this prestigious award is Kenny ‘kennyS’ Schrub from Titan. Thorin highlights kennyS’s excellent individual performance throughout the year, even though he had to miss some major tournaments due to KQLY’s ban.

Most Improved/Break-out Player of the Year:
Freddy ‘KRiMZ’ Johansson from FNATIC wins this award. Thorin describes KRiMZ’s meteoric rise to becoming the best player in the world late in the year, dominating three straight international tournaments.

Rifler of the Year:
Christopher ‘GeT_RiGhT’ Alesund from NiP takes home this award. Thorin acknowledges GeT_RiGhT’s mastery of rifles and his consistent performance throughout the year.

AWPer of the Year:
Kenny ‘kennyS’ Schrub from Titan wins this award as well. Thorin praises kennyS’s consistent and impactful sniping, making him the best player in the world.

Pistol Player of the Year:
Richard ‘shox’ Papillon from LDLC is recognized as the best pistol round player. Thorin emphasizes shox’s composure, precision accuracy, and ability to turn the tide in pistol rounds.

Clutch Round Player of the Year:
Robin ‘Flusha’ Rönnquist from FNATIC takes home this award. Thorin credits Flusha’s consistent performance, especially in 1vX situations, and his ability to close out rounds for FNATIC.

In-Game Leader of the Year:
Kévin ‘Ex6TenZ’ Droolans from Titan wins this award. Despite not having significant success in the majors, Ex6TenZ’s tactical mind and ability to lead different line-ups throughout the year are recognized.

Team of the Year:
FNATIC is crowned the best team of 2014. Thorin highlights FNATIC’s consistent top-four finishes in tournaments, significant wins, dominance, and overall success throughout the year.

Rivalry of the Year:
The rivalry between NiP and Virtus.pro is named the best rivalry of 2014. Thorin points out the intense battles between the two teams and their significant performances in several tournaments.
