Thorin presents the CS:GO Top 10 World Rankings for March 18, 2015

CS:GO World Rankings – March 2015

CS:GO has always struggled to have a consistent and updated set of World Rankings. It’s difficult to judge which event’s results should count more than others. So, instead of creating a complicated point system, I’ve analyzed the recent form of each team and determined my own top 10 rankings.

Offline results are the most important

When considering the rankings, I only take into account the results of teams in offline tournaments. I consider the results of a team over a period of around three months, with more recent tournament results given more weight. Finishes, consistency, current form, and opponents faced are all factors I consider when determining the rankings.

Recent form and analysis

Last week’s ESL One Katowice was the fifth major tournament for CS:GO and provided an ideal opportunity to update the rankings. Here are my CS:GO Top 10 World Rankings for March 18, 2015:

1. FNATIC (KRiMZ, JW, olofmeister, Flusha, and pronax) [-]

Recent form:

ESEA S17 LAN (1st)

MLG X Games Aspen (4th)

ClutchCon (1st)

IOS Pantamera (1st)

ESL One Katowice (1st)

FNATIC climbed back to the top with their win at IOS Pantamera, and their victory in Katowice solidified their position as the best CS:GO team in the world. With two tournament victories in a row and strong finishes in other tournaments, it will be difficult for any team to overtake them in the near future.

2. EnVyUs (shox, Happy, kioShiMa, SmithZz, and NBK) [-]

Recent form:

MLG X Games Aspen (1st)

IOS Pantamera (3rd)

ESL One Katowice (3rd-4th)

EnVyUs have consistently finished in the top four in offline tournaments, but their recent semi-final defeat in Poland prevented them from regaining the number one spot from FNATIC. Their performance in Gfinity Masters will be crucial in determining their rank.

3. Ninjas in Pyjamas (GeT_RiGhT, f0rest, friberg, Xizt, and allu) [-]

Recent form:

MLG X Games Aspen (2nd)

ASUS ROG Winter (1st)

IOS Pantamera (4th-6th)

ESL One Katowice (2nd)

NiP reached yet another major final and improved their form after a disappointing performance at IOS. However, they still trail EnVyUs due to nV’s recent wins and top four finishes.

4. Virtus.pro (Snax, byali, pasha, NEO, and TaZ) [-]

Recent form:

ESEA S17 LAN (2nd)

Acer A-Split Invitational (1st)

ASUS ROG Winter (5th-8th)

IOS Pantamera (4th-6th)

ESL One Katowice (3rd-4th)

Virtus.pro has consistently finished in the top four, and their performance in ESL One Katowice solidified their position. However, they still lack the consistency and “Virtus.plow” moments to win a major international tournament.

These are the top four teams in my CS:GO World Rankings. For the remaining teams, you can check the full rankings on my blog. I will update the rankings following Gfinity Masters this weekend.
