The Troubled Echo Fox

The Third America’s Minor Closed Qualifier concluded with Cloud9, Echo Fox, Team SoloMid, and Immortals advancing to the next stage. Echo Fox’s qualification may come as a surprise given their recent poor performance at ELEAGUE Season 2, but their reputation is somewhat at odds with expectations. Former NBA player Rick Fox first got involved in esports by purchasing a spot in the League of Legends Championship Series. Echo Fox then entered the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive scene. However, their roster didn’t generate much interest at the time. Despite their underwhelming lineup, Echo Fox managed to find some success at ELEAGUE and climbed out of ESEA Premier over the summer. However, they still struggled to qualify for major LAN events and had disappointing performances at ELEAGUE and the America’s Minor. It remains to be seen whether Echo Fox will make the necessary changes to improve their performance or if they will continue to underachieve.
