Tempo Storm Surprises North America in IEM Katowice Qualifier

Tempo Storm’s Brazilian Team Shocks North America in IEM Katowice Qualifier

Tempo Storm, a newly formed Brazilian team, surprised the top teams from North America in the IEM Katowice Counter-Strike qualifier just days after joining the organization.

The event had only one spot available for a North American team, and many fans expected Cloud9, Team Liquid, or Counter Logic Gaming to compete for it. However, all three teams were defeated by the underdog Brazilian team.

Tempo Storm achieved a 2-1 victory over Team Liquid and a clean sweep against Counter Logic Gaming. This set the stage for an intense final match against Cloud9 for the Katowice berth. Despite Cloud9’s strong performance on their counter-terrorist halves, they were unable to convert on the other side, which allowed Tempo Storm to stage a comeback in both games.

In the final game, the teams went to overtime, and Tempo Storm emerged victorious with a 19-17 score. The Brazilian team celebrated their win with great enthusiasm, capturing the moment in a tweet by their founder Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo. Players from around the world congratulated the team on their achievement.

I dreamed this moment. Me and my brothers in an international event. 2-0 beating 3 top NA teams. Just applause. pic.twitter.com/A4G3htJBpF

In other matches, Optic Gaming also achieved success by reaching the top four with a victory over Enemy.

Tempo Storm will now compete against some of the best teams in the world at IEM Katowice, including Fnatic, EnVy.Us, Astralis, and Na`Vi, as well as Gabriel Toledo’s Luminosity Gaming.
